In 1986, when Rogene Baxter founded Bridgewater Group, her goals were two-fold:
- To establish a consulting firm to bring out the best of leaders and managers — namely, they would actively contribute to the organization’s progress by unleashing a new-found enthusiasm for working together to create outcomes and long-term success.
- To work in partnership with clients to identify the specific issues that need improvement. Once known, we customize initiatives to determine with our client partner what is needed, the order of priority, and ways to implement the initiative for long term results.
How has that played out? Rogene’s work has brought increased organizational capacity and talent retention to companies across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Her collaborative work with clients has resulted in aligning their business goals and strategies, performance needs, professional development and performance support for organizational success. It has played out well. Today, one of our advantages is the number of projects and clients we have worked with all over the world. When preparing for an initiative, we build on what we have learned and experienced with other clients and their organizations, from work in many different cultures, and from staying current with trends and innovative ways to enhance what we have learned.
Rogene is well known for her conference presentations. Her speaking engagements include international conferences ( sometimes with a client) of the American Society of Training and Development (recently renamed ATD) and the International Society for Performance and Instruction.
As an adjunct faculty member she has taught courses at John F. Kennedy University, Master of Business Administration and Career Development Master programs, and has lectured at the University of California Extension, Berkeley.
Rogene is Past President and Chairperson of the Board for the Institue of Management Consultants’ (IMC USA) Northern California Chapter. Other Boards she has served on include: President of the Golden Gate Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development. Board member of the California Career Development Association, the Contact Care Center and the Board of Trustees of Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church Foundation.
A Registered Nurse, Ms. Baxter holds a BA in Behavioral Science and an MA in Career Development. She is a recipient of the prestigious “Alumna of the Year” 1992 award by John F. Kennedy University School of Business Administration.
Rogene has also been awarded the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation from the Institute of Management Consultants. This certification represents evidence of the highest standards of consulting and adherence to the ethical canons of the profession. Less than 1% of all consultants have achieved this level of performance. She is an Authorized Partner of Everything DiSC a WILEY Brand and of The Five behaviors of a Cohesive Team. In June 2015, she became one of the first consultants across the country to be awarded the Accredited Facilitator of The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team.
